REV. RJS, 12-94

TYPIC HUMAQUEPTS, SANDY, MIXED, MESIC

The Brockton series consists of very deep, very poorly drained soils on uplands. They formed in glacial till. Typically these soils have a very dark brown organic surface layer 3 inches thick. The subsurface layer from 3 to 14 inches is a mottled black sandy loam. The upper substratum from 14 to 20 inches is a gray gravelly loamy sand. The lower substratum from 20 to 65 inches is a very firm mottled gray gravelly loamy sand. Slopes range from 0 to 3 percent.
